The T.A. Howard Knights, Cross Timbers Timberwolves and the Carol Holt Trailblazers joined forces for the 1st ever Stuff the Bus Food Drive. The goal was to help restock the Common Ground Mansfield food pantries by donating non-perishable food items. As the donations came in, the organizers STUFF a school bus with the items. Thank you to all parents, faculty, staff and students who helped. Spearheading the teams was Lakeita Richardson, with T.A. Howard Middle School, that not only coordinated, but even drove the bus to each campus to collect, and then delivered to the Food Pantry. At Cross Timbers Intermediate, Susan Cary and all the sixth grade teachers matched the students donations 1:1. The drive at all three campuses ran November 12-16, and well over 4,250 non-perishable food items were donated.
Cross Timbers Intermediate Food Drive contact was Ali Soad, who kept the donations in her room, organized and kept count for the competition between the grades. 6th grade students won and they will receive a pajama day.
Listed are those that assisted and also matched the student’s donations 1:1:
Kim Bruner, Cynthia McCarty, Monica Miller, Dawn Welch, Rashunda Sims, Carrie Strange, Laura Thomason, Rachel Thornberry, Pat Trementozzi, Treceda Caldwell, Dejauna Hamilton, Tabrisha McCoy, Misty Cassell, Alicia Cunningham, Elaine Rose, Susan Cary.
