Students from the Alternative Education Center in Mansfield ISD hosted a Christmas Party for the residents and staff at the Mansfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, December 16, 2013. Students gave out stockings stuffed with snacks, candies, and gifts that had been donated by the AEC staff and students. They also handed out Christmas cards and refreshments, sang Christmas Carols, and decorated rooms with glittered snowflakes. Kori Lee, a student at AEC, said, "This is awesome! It feels so good to put smiles on their faces!" The party has become an annual event for the students at AEC. Sally McClure, organizer of the event, said, "The students have as much fun as the residents. We are all blessed by the smiles and laughter and can't wait to do it all again next year!"
