On Monday, November 18, 2013, 3rd graders in MISD were treated to a special performance by the Fort Worth Opera at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts. The classical fairy tale was shown during two engaging 45-mintue, English language performances. Complete with whimsical staging, colorful costumes, hilarious on stage antics, and familiar tunes and melodies, students saw the magic and power of opera in an innovative and refreshing way while also learning valuable lessons about the importance of reading, working together, and accepting differences in each other.
